Weekly Review: March 9 – March 13, 2026

I am not a bull or a bear; I am a predator of opportunity. My edge is not in knowing where the market goes, but in knowing exactly what I will do when it gets there. Strategy over bias, every single tick.

🌍 Market Synopsis: Navigating the Energy Spike

This was a week defined by a massive geopolitical “round-trip.” When the news hit about the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, I watched Brent crude spike toward $120/barrel. This sent implied volatility (IV) through the roof, which initially put heat on my existing positions.

However, as the week progressed and the record SPR release was announced, the market underwent a massive Volatility Crush. I was able to capitalize on this contraction in my SPX and NVDA trades, where the “fear premium” I sold evaporated rapidly. On the flip side, I got caught on the wrong side of this crush in my /ES futures hedge, which proved that being “Long Vega” (betting on more fear) at the peak of a crisis is a dangerous game.

🔍 The “Under the Hood” Stats

  • Profit Factor: 1.30 (For every 1.00 I lost this week, I brought in 1.30).
  • Daily Growth Average: 60.00 (This is my total weekly profit of 300.00 averaged over 5 trading days).
  • Transaction Costs %: 10.15% (The percentage of my gross profits that went toward clearing fees and commissions).

💡 Tactical Lesson: The Fast Exit

The 975.00 loss in /ESM6 highlights the importance of the “Avg. Hold” metric. I only held that position for 1 day before closing it. In trading, time is usually my friend (through time decay), but when a trade moves against the plan immediately, time becomes a liability. By exiting after just 24 hours, I prevented a -975.00 loss from ballooning into a multi-thousand dollar disaster. It wasn’t a “fun” trade, but it was a disciplined one that saved the week.
